Bothal Footbridge

A small suspension footbridge crossing the river Wansbeck.
If head down the public footpath down the side of the church and castle you will eventually come to the river Wansbeck where you can see both the footbridge and the stepping stones.
This suspension bridge was built for the rector of Bothal church to allow them to easily cross the Wansbeck from the church to the Rectory which was on the south bank.
The bridge no longer seems to be in use and access to it is also on private land. So just admire it from the riverside or the stepping stones.
