Rubers Law is an old hill fort that offers wonderful views across the Scottish Borders.
The walk starts from the quaint village of Denholm, where you can find plenty of parking around the Village Square.

Start from the Cafe/Post Office on the square, cross the road, and head south passing the War Memorial along Westgate and Dean Road.
You will pass the Public Toilets on the right, carry on for approximately 500m turning left immediately after the Electricity Sub-station.
This path gently climbs uphill, offering views of the Minto Hills behind you.

The path heads through woodland, some of which has been felled. Rubers Law is visible in the distance, so just keep heading towards your goal.

The path passes through a couple of gates, gently climbing towards Rubers Law.

When the trig point on Rubers Law becomes visible, continue on the path, turning right onto the rocky outcrop.

The views from the summit of Rubers Law are far-reaching, you can see the Eildon Hills in the distance.

Once you have investigated the Hill Fort, head off the back of the hill headed west. Head for the copse of trees, staying on the right side of the wall.
After approximately 500m, pass through the gap in the wall, allowing you to walk along the other side of the wall. When the path meets a track, turn left.

The track gently winds through woodland for 2km. After passing a farmhouse, continue a short distance before climbing over a style into a field on the left. You are now on the Borders Abbey Way.
Head diagonally left across the field to a gate, go through the gate, and then through another. Carry straight on until you come to a track, turn right.

Follow the track as it bends left, then right before taking a sharp left at the farm buildings. The track eventually turns left. Continue for a short distance before taking a right turn.
This track changes to a road that takes you back to Denholm.

At the main road, turn left this returns you to your starting point. This route is 10km with 450m of ascent.
Follow the above route, or find on OS Maps.
