From the layby, cross the road follow the track NW, then turn right to head NE.

The track turns again to head NW. When the track turns NE yet again, leave the track and head NW over Hurr Gill.

Beware, it can be very boggy in this area. Once over Hurr Gill keep heading NW on the best route you can find, negotiating the boggy moorland, until you reach the trig point.

This route is under 2km from the car with 120m of ascent.
