From the parking area, go through the gate and follow the track west.
Keep following the track, ignoring the track to the left.
After passing Potsloan on the right, follow the track for approximately 1km, then turn left up the grassy track.
When the track runs out, make your way up the bank on the left and head south east over tussocky ground until you reach the trig.
This route is 4.5km with 100m of ascent.
