Loup Of Fintry Waterfall
Waterfall In Stirling, Scotland
A stunning waterfall, with a 29m drop on the River Endrick in the Fintry Glen.
The Loup Of Fintry is an impressive waterfall that can be found not far from the road between the Campsie Fells and the Fintry Hills. Loup means leap and it's a long leap that the water makes down the 29m fall.
Endrick Water (River Endrick) starts on the slopes of the of Gargunnock and Fintry Hills. It flows down to the the Carron Valley Reservoir before making its way westwards to these impressive falls. It then continues its journey down river until it meets Loch Lomond.
If you should find yourself on the B818 near Fintry, you can find this little gem not far from the road and it's well worth stopping and taking a look. There is the option of walking the trail which takes you to the top of the falls, but on this occasion with Storm Kathleen blowing a hooley, we chose a fleeting visit. Either way, the ground can be boggy and uneven, so good footwear is recommended.

I have been a keen hill walker for many years and more recently enjoy trig bagging. When I'm not exploring Northumberland, County Durham and Yorkshire, I spend most of my holidays in bonny Scotland. Other than hills, I love investigating ruinous buildings and waterfalls. I have been a member of NT and EH for years, which also gives me access to Historic Environment Scotland places.
