Middleton Crags
Crag, Rock And Cairn In The Cheviots, Northumberland
A set of crags on the north east face of Hedgehope Hill standing at 404m above sea level.
If you are doing a bit of hill bagging for the Cheviot 99 Challenge, then Middleton Crags will be on your list. You can also bag the nearby Langlee Crags at the same time too along with Hedgehope Hill if your legs are up to it!
I've probably mentioned it before and will no doubt again, but this is my favourite part of The Cheviots. Load of crags all located together and you can just wander between them.
And all you have to do is lookout for Housey Crags as you know the car park is just below that.
Middleton Crags are easy enough to find. From the parking, just cross the little bridge and follow the permissive path straight up towards Housey Crags. Pick up the quad bike path that will then take you in front of Langlee Crags and then on to Middleton Crags.
Follow the route above or find it on OS Maps. Just over 3km and 193m climbing to get there.
To bag every crag up here then head over to our crags around Hedgehope Hill and Langleeford walk and make a day of it!

Thanks for checking out this place on the Fabulous North! I do enjoy a wander out in to the countryside trying to find hidden gems that not many people know about. You can't beat a rogue pele tower up a remote hill, a mysterious stone circle or a stunning waterfall secluded in a forest.
