The Moncreiffe Hill trig point sits on a hill fort (185m) near Perth.

This is the Moncreiffe Hill trig point (185m) near Perth.
Moncreiffe Hill can be found on the southern side of the River Tay, opposite Kinnoull Hill.
There is a good car park to the south east of the hill. From the car park take the track heading west.
Follow the track west, as it gently gains elevation. After 2km the path heads downhill, before a steep uphill section that takes you around the west of the hill.
Follow the track as it bends up the hill, taken the right hand track at the junction. When you reach the wooden sculptures of woodlice, the summit it up on the right. Careful, it's a bit steep and slippery.
The Moncreiffe Hill Trig Point sits on a old Hill Fort, and provides great views to the south. If you return to the path and continue east for approximately 05.km, you will can add the Moredun Top Hill Fort which has great views over Perth, Kinnoull Hill and the River Tay. It is well worth the effort!
It is just over 4km with 250m of ascent to reach the trig point.
