Woodhorn Mill

Windmill In Ashington, Northumberland

A sail-less 19th century windmill in Lynemouth.

Also known as the Lynemouth Windmill (well to me anyway!) this now sail-less windmill apparently once served as a navigation aid or way-marker for sailing ships out at sea.

A quick up and down from Red 5.

Thanks for checking out this place on the Fabulous North! I do enjoy a wander out in to the countryside trying to find hidden gems that not many people know about. You can't beat a rogue Pele tower up a remote hill or a mysterious stone circle or a stunning waterfall secluded in a forest.
