Thistle Green Trig Point

This is the Thistle Green trig point (544m) near Middleton-in-Teesdale.

From the car park, walk NW up the road for a short distance before turning left down the track.

Continue straight down the track until a sharp right turn to take you over the River Tees.

Once over the river turn left and then left again to stay on the Pennine Way. Where the paths cross, take the right path up Birk Rigg.

When appropriate, turn right to leave the main track to make your way to the trig point.

This route is just under 5km with 230m of ascent.
