The Mount Keen trig point is the most easterly Munro (939m) near Ballater.

This is the Mount Keen trig point the most easterly Munro (939m) near Ballater, which is best approached from Invermark.
From the Invermark parking area, head west, passing the pretty Lochlee Kirk.
It is well worth continuing straight down the road for a short distance to visit Invermark Castle, a 16th century tower house, built on the site of a 14th century castle, which belonged to the Lindsays of Crawford.
Retrace you steps, back over the stream and take the left turn heading north west.
Once past the House of Mark, Glen Mark really opens out.
The track follows the Water of Mark up through the glen.
You will soon come to the famous Queen's Well. It is well worth taking time to visit this famous landmark, where Queen Victoria stopped off on one of her treks.
The track then continues further up the glen and passes Invermark Cottage.
Not far past the cottage, the water is easily crossed, before the path heads uphill.
The gradient of the path increases, but the effort is well worth it. At the top there is a cairn where you can rest and enjoy the views back down the glen, before continuing on the path to the summit.
The path gets a less clear, but just continue north as you head for the rocky summit.
The views to the north and west are excellent from the summit.
It is 9.5km to the trig point with 680m of ascent.
