This is the Hay Banks trig point (177m) sitting between Belsay and Black Heddon.
It's a quick sprint to the trig point which is just beyond the wind turbine. From the layby, take the left gate which is on the same side as the trig point. There may be cattle in the field. There is not open access land and there is no permissive path, so please get permission from the landowner before bagging this trig.
Just follow this map, or find it on OS Maps. Only 300m to the trig and 7m of ascent.
