From the parking area, head north east up the road. Take the next right and follow the road past the farm. Keep on the track as it bends to the right.
You are now heading south west and the Fintry Hills are straight ahead of you.
As the track starts to climb, you will pass a tin shelter on the left, carry on as the track gets steeper.
Once you pass through the gate at the top, you may find a tractor parked up. At this point you need to turn right onto the moorland.
Make sure you head above the crags to the right of the waterfall. There is a faint ATV to follow, however it disappears in places as the terrain is quite boggy.
Keep heading west for around 1.5km and the wind shelter and trig point will come into view.
It is an interesting stony mossy trig with excellent views over the Trossachs.
It was nice to see the weather clearing as we headed back to the car.
It is just under 8km and 420m of ascent to the trig point.

I have been a keen hill walker for many years and more recently enjoy trig bagging. When I'm not exploring Northumberland, County Durham and Yorkshire, I spend most of my holidays in bonny Scotland. Other than hills, I love investigating ruinous buildings and waterfalls. I have been a member of NT and EH for years, which also gives me access to Historic Environment Scotland places.
