This is the Thirl Moor trig point (558m) on the Otterburn Ranges.

From the layby, climb over the stile on the opposite side of the road.

There are many ATV tracks to follow on the moor, keep heading in an north easterly direction.

Head for the large cairn with the metal work protruding from it.

The summit provides exceptional views in all directions.

Please note this trig point is on the Otterburn Ranges which is only accessible on non-firing days. View the Otterburn Ranges firing times.

It is just over 1km with 50m of ascent to the trig point.
