Birney Hill Mill
Windmill In Ponteland, Northumberland
An old 18th century windmill part of Birney Hill farm.
We've pootled down Stamfordham Road near Ponteland a few times and keep meaning to stop to see what this little windmill is. We found out that it is called Birney Hill Mill and is part of Birney Hill Farm.
We read that this windmill was built in the 18th century and that is pretty much all we could find. As it's part of a farm we didn't venture onto the grounds, but took some snaps from the path.
During our research we did find some planning permissions and ideas to turn this into a home with the farm being converted to some amazing modern residences. Get saving your pennies!

Thanks for checking out this place on the Fabulous North! I do enjoy a wander out in to the countryside trying to find hidden gems that not many people know about. You can't beat a rogue pele tower up a remote hill, a mysterious stone circle or a stunning waterfall secluded in a forest.
