This is the Craiglee trig point (523m) near Craigmulloch.
Start your walk at the Loch Doon Castle car park.
It is worth visiting the castle, to find out more see our Loch Doon Castle page.
The path climbs uphill behind the castle.
Continue up the path heading straight up the Wee Hill of Craigmulloch.
From the Wee Hill of Craigmulloch, you can see Craiglee to the north west.
To get there, you need to descend before climbing up to the trig point. The ground on the lower section is very boggy and heavy going.
However, the effort is worth it. The 360 degree views are amazing.
To return to the car park, it is possible to skirt around the bottom of the Wee Hill of Craigmulloch to avoid re-climbing it, but be aware the terrain is boggy and rough.
The route to the trig point is 2.5km with 350m of ascent.
Follow the above route, or find on OS Maps.

I have been a keen hill walker for many years and more recently enjoy trig bagging. When I'm not exploring Northumberland, County Durham and Yorkshire, I spend most of my holidays in bonny Scotland. Other than hills, I love investigating ruinous buildings and waterfalls. I have been a member of NT and EH for years, which also gives me access to Historic Environment Scotland places.
