Long Crag Gunnerton Trig Point
Trig Point In Swinburne, Northumberland
This is the trig point for Long Crag Gunnerton (222m) near Swinburne.
Height - 222m // Bracket - S6625 // Postcode - NE48 4BA
This is the Long Crag Gunnerton trig point (222m) next to Colt Crag Reservoir near Swinburne.
It's just a short 400m walk from the layby so a quick and easy bagging. Although the OS Maps show that this is on open access land, we did read a comment to say that a trig bagger was approached by the landowner to say that it was actually on private land.
Follow this map, or find it on OS Maps.
Please note that this layby is on the brow of a rise, so please be careful when pulling away. Alternatively park in the layby near the reservoir entrance and walk up the grassy verge on the side of the road.
Thanks to Glen Harrison for the photos and information.

Thanks for checking out this place on the Fabulous North! I do enjoy a wander out in to the countryside trying to find hidden gems that not many people know about. You can't beat a rogue Pele tower up a remote hill or a mysterious stone circle or a stunning waterfall secluded in a forest.
