Ray Lonsdale Sculptures
If you have wandered the north visit, then no doubt you will have seen a sculpture by Ray Lonsdale. Ray has a unique style of using corten steel which is allowed to oxidise giving it a weathered look.
His sculptures are dotted around the north east with maybe his most famous exhibit being Eleven O One in Seaham. A large sculpture of a World War I soldier caught in the first minute of peace in 1918.
According to Ray, his work conveys incredible sensitivity and emotion, often providing deep moments of reflection.
