This is Whitekirk Hill Trig Point (74m) near North Berwick.

To bag this trig point, from the Activity Centre/Resort, head up the grassy track on the left to head SW.

The above shows a view back down the track. There is plenty of activity apparatus on both sides of the track, used by the Activity Centre.

When you see the post on the right up a small grassy track, take this path.

Follow the track until you reach a bench which provides beautiful views. From here look SW, the trig point is hidden in the gorse.

Make your way across the grassy area towards the gorse, finding a safe gap to pass through. Careful you don't get prickled.

Turn right and follow the narrow path through the gorse until you reach the trig.

There are great views to the North over North Berwick Law and Bass Rock.

The route to the trig point is just over 1km with 50m of ascent.

Follow the above route, or find on OS Maps.

I have been a keen hill walker for many years and more recently enjoy trig bagging. When I'm not exploring Northumberland, County Durham and Yorkshire, I spend most of my holidays in bonny Scotland. Other than hills, I love investigating ruinous buildings and waterfalls. I have been a member of NT and EH for years, which also gives me access to Historic Environment Scotland places.
