This is the Buckton Cliffs trig point (135m) near Filey.

The starting point for this trig is the RSPB Bempton Cliffs car park. Head through the metal arch shaped like bird heads, then turn right. Take the path towards the cliffs making sure you keep left heading east.

It is well worth heading out on some of the viewing platforms to see if there are any seasonal nesting visitors, check out the RSPB Bempton Cliffs for further details.

As you continue walking along the path you will pass the old RAF Bempton on the left. You may also meet the locals keeping an eye on you.

Continue east along the coastal path as it rises and falls, until you reach the trig point sitting a couple of meters from the cliff edge.

There are good views over Filey from the trig point, when the weather complies.

It is just over 3km with 70m of ascent to reach the trig point.

Follow the above route, or find on OS Maps.

I have been a keen hill walker for many years and more recently enjoy trig bagging. When I'm not exploring Northumberland, County Durham and Yorkshire, I spend most of my holidays in bonny Scotland. Other than hills, I love investigating ruinous buildings and waterfalls. I have been a member of NT and EH for years, which also gives me access to Historic Environment Scotland places.
