Dunmoor Hill Stone Circle

Stone Circle In Ingram Valley, Northumberland

A little stone circle sitting at the bottom of Dunmoor next to Cunyan Crags.

When you think of stone circles in Northumberland, then most people's minds will wander to the mighty Duddo Stones. But there are more stone circles to find if you know when to look and we happened upon this one on our walk to Cunyan Crags.

It didn't have a name so I have called it the Dunmoor Hill Stone Circle. Yeah I know, not very original.

I counted 9 stones around the outside with a flat stone at the centre.

I couldn't find any further information about them, but someone had to lug them here for some reason as they are in the middle of nowhere. It does have to spectacular Cunyan Crags to keep it company.

If you fancy a wander to the Dunmoor Hill Stone Circle, then best place to park is at Ingram Bridge Car Park. Follow the road north, then head up the track NW towards Reaveley Farm. A short way up the road is a fingerpost pointing over Reaveley Hill and you can follow that all the way to the stone circle.

Follow the route or open on OS Maps. Just over 4km and 217m of climbing.

Thanks for checking out this place on the Fabulous North! I do enjoy a wander out in to the countryside trying to find hidden gems that not many people know about. You can't beat a rogue pele tower up a remote hill, a mysterious stone circle or a stunning waterfall secluded in a forest.
