This is the Pigdon trig point (118m) near Morpeth.

From the parking area next to the abandoned Maidens Hall Farm, enter the field and skirt the edge, turning right, then left, then left again. The trig is on its side, next to the fence on the right.

The abandoned farm has a sad story. The farmers wife, Margaret Gill was murdered by a farm worker John Carr, in March 1971. The place has a very eerie feeling.

It is 0.5km to the trig point. Follow the above route, or find on OS Maps.

The trig point has been moved as it not currently in the location detailed on maps.
